Why it matters
Water access is one of the places where business and people meet most directly. A technology maker that pairs its products with volunteer work and disaster response can help communities in the first days after a storm or flood. Companies in the water sector are also a natural fit for the data center world, where cooling and water supply go together.
How to read the claim
Reach numbers describe people served by programs and technology, which can vary from household taps to disaster relief. Readers should look for follow up detail on how long the benefits last. Still, publishing goals and results each year is the right habit.
