At this year’s RE+ conference, Hithium, one of the world’s leading providers of energy storage solutions, launched a new AI Data Center Energy Storage System (ESS) designed to meet the fast-growing energy demands of hyperscale facilities while supporting the global green transition.

The highlight of the portfolio is the ∞Power 6.25MWh, 8-hour long-duration battery energy storage system (BESS), paired with the ∞Power N2.28MWh, 1-hour sodium-ion BESS. Together, these complementary systems provide both the stable, long-duration backbone and the rapid-response power surge capability that AI data centers require. Hithium also introduced a dedicated lifespan assessment model tailored for AI workloads, giving operators deeper insight into system degradation and reliability under high-intensity computing environments.

Meeting the AI Data Center Challenge

As AI adoption accelerates, data centers face two major challenges:

  • Energy reliability — millisecond-level load fluctuations can disrupt operations.
  • Sustainability goals — operators must cut costs and emissions by integrating more renewable energy into their supply mix.

Hithium’s dual-system approach directly addresses these issues. The 8-hour lithium BESS ensures long-duration stability, while the sodium-ion system is engineered for sudden spikes in demand. This configuration reduces the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) and enhances renewable energy utilization — two priorities for both operators and investors.

Technology Built for AI Reliability

Kush Sutaria, Senior Manager of Application Engineering at Hithium, explained:

“The ∞Power 6.25MWh 8h BESS reduces auxiliary consumption and maximizes efficiency, while the ∞Power N2.28MWh 1h BESS delivers 20,000 cycles of stable performance, even under millisecond-level load fluctuations. Together, these solutions give data center operators the cost efficiency and reliability they need as AI drives unprecedented power demand.”

U.S. Manufacturing and Localized Service

Hithium’s U.S. presence adds credibility to its launch. The company operates a 10GWh factory in Texas, backed by a nationwide support network of over 100 engineers, regional warehouses, and a 72-hour on-site response guarantee. This “Local for Local” strategy ensures both rapid deployment and long-term support for North American customers, while vertical integration keeps costs competitive.

Scaling with Global Demand

Hithium’s track record speaks for itself. The company ranked Top 2 globally in energy storage battery shipments and utility-scale deployments in the first half of 2025. Its new AI Data Center ESS demonstrates how Hithium is expanding its full-scenario customization capabilities, paving the way for energy storage to reach beyond traditional utility projects into next-generation industries like AI, high-performance computing, and beyond.

Bottom Line

Hithium’s RE+ 2025 launch signals more than a new product — it represents a blueprint for how AI data centers can achieve sustainability without sacrificing reliability. By pairing long-duration lithium storage with fast-response sodium systems, and backing it with localized manufacturing and service, Hithium is positioning itself at the center of the clean-energy transition for digital infrastructure.
